First, I introduce A&T corporation simply. A&T has four business
sections.
Each section produces
sample transportation system
laboratory information system
regent
analyzer
In analyzer section, we have developed autoanalyzer, and electrolyte analyzer,
glucose analyzer, coagulation analyzer. |

Secondly, I introduce characteristics of A&Ts Electrolyte Analyzer.
Matching of leading membrane technology and instrumentation technology
realizes its high throughput and sample flexibility. Our electrodes are
unique and tough. Na, K electrodes are made up of crown ether membrane,and
Cl is unique MO(molecular oriented) membrane.
Our electrolyte analyzer can measure not only serum but plasma, urine,
and dialysis. We do calibration once a day, and our electrodes have fast
response. Electrolyte analyzer,the upper picture, EA06T/R/U and lower EA05
we have developed to date can measure 150 and 300samples/Hr. |

Today, I would like to introduce the new Electrolyte Module EAM01.
This picture is Electrolyte Module EAM01. We achieved a remarkable improvement
on the current model of our company. The new ISE module EAM01, for
the determination of sodium, potassium, chloride, has been developed by
making the most of accumulation of advanced technology.
A&T corporation realized the amazing compact new Electrolyte Module
EAM01 with Ion selective electrode as indirect system. |

EAM01 is 20cm wide and 10cm deep and 25cm height.
The volume of the analyzer of the same class is 75L compared to the previous
model of A&T.
But the volume of new EAM01 is only 5L(liter)+2L bottle. It is very compact
! |

The instrument consists of a main board(it is behind the picture),
two pairs of micro pump and electrical valve and their driver boards, upper
tray for setting electrode and dilution pot having sample entry port on

This autoanalyzer system 502 is our product including EAM01.
As being shown in this picture, it is easy to integrate the EAM01
into the autoanalyzer, actually, this 502 with EAMunit is sold internationally
already. |

This slide shows block flow diagram of EAM01.
First, Buffer is supplied to dilution pot using micro pump 1, then sample
is dispensed to dilution pot using the crane which is excluded.
Second, buffer and sample is mixed in dilution pot and sucked by using
micro pump 2 while they are measured. |

Here, I introduce the foregoing crown ether and molecular oriented membrane.
So what's crown ether? The structures are shown in this slide.
We use 12-Crown-4 for Na, and 15-Crown-5 for K. We have successfully developed
derivatives for both sodium and potassium. |

Picture shows K Crown compound system.
The yellow part is liquid crystal segment for association. Complex is formed
with crown ether and K, ratio is 2:1. K is captured by the two crown ether
rings. In the case of Na ,We use 12-Crown-4 in stead of 15-Crown-5. |

So what's MO membrane? The structure is shown in this slide.
In the conventional Liquid Membrane system, lipophilic matter dissolves
and interferes with the whole system,but our molecular oriented membrane
blocks lipophilic matter by orientation quaternary ammonium salt. |

The property of ISE consists of four features as follows.
Selectivity: Affects accuracy of data.
Response: Affects throughput, accuracy, and reproducibility of data.

This slide shows Ion selectivity.
In measurement of Na, the coefficient of selectivity for K is less than
0.02
In measurement of K, the coefficient of selectivity for Na is less than
0.002. In measurement of Na, K, there is No major interference in routine
measurement.
The coefficient of selectivity for bromide is less than 2.0 in measurement
of chloride.
So we promise you the accurate result of analysis of ion concentration. |

This slide shows Response profile of our electrodes.
Sample is dispensed at this point. Response speed is so fast and signal
saturation comes to steady very soon. Na,K,and Cl get the regular within
two seconds.
In addition, there is no difference between water and serum in figure of
response wave. |

This figiure shows pH(hydrogen exponent) properties of the electrodes.
The ordinate represents the relative error of electrode potential and the
absissa is pH. Blue point is our crown ether. pH sometimes gives
a great change to properties of electrodes, however our electrode has small
influence in pH range 3-10 |

This slide shows the result of Lifetime test of ISE (Na, K, Cl). The ordinate
represents CV(coefficient of variation) and the absissa is the number of
samples.
Red line shows CV 0.35% line(n=20) ,yellow point is Na, red point is K,
blue point is Cl.
We have had lifetime tests as our aim for the results under the red
line.
As to the results of tests, we can say our electrode has steady properties
and long lifetime. |

This slide shows Reproducibility and interval measurement.
Reproducibility of Control serum and H-STD.serum is within 0.15% and
H-STD.urine is within specification.
Interval measurement is good ,too. Our interval measurement is very significant.
Because it means that it is possible to measure accurately even if there
is time intervals of measurement like figure 18s,36s,54s,72s when EAM is
integrated into the autoanalyzer and transportation system.
We ensure CV under 0.30% in measurement of serum. |

Linearity of serum and urine is shown in figure.
In Serum mode, we can measure Na concentration accurately in the 20-200mM
range and K; 1-10mM, and Cl; 20-200mM.
In Urine mode, we can measure Na concentration accurately in the 5-500mM
range and K; 2-200mM, and Cl; 5-500mM. |

This slide shows Accuracy and Correlation.
Both of Accuracy measurement using CRS and Correlation data are good.
CRS is working certified reference for ISE in Japan.
A correlation between EAM01 and EA04 showed excellent agreement.
EA04 is our electrolyte analyzer using coulometric titration method in
measurement of Cl. We can measure Cl accurately with flow-through method
as well as coulometric titration method. |
